Jim Lee, Founder
I purchased my first record (Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog") with money earned from nightly dishwashing when I was nine. In 1977 while attending college, I landed a summer job working as a trainee installer for a small stereo company. It is now 2020, I've managed to build up 43 years in the stereo business, and I'm proud to say I still have that Elivis Presley 45.
I fell in love with stereo gear from the beginning. I continue to work and learn as much as I can, especially about how sound equipment works and performs in various rooms with acoustical treatments. I have been fortunate to work with some of the most influential and knowledgeable people in the industry. People like Mark Levinson, David Wilson, Jim White, Neil Sinclair, Jim Thiel, Dan D’Agostino and other friends who took me under their wings, so to speak, and tried their best to help me. Eventually I was able to buy my own business (Nuts About Hi-Fi in Silverdale, Washington) and I continue building a clientele of some of the most interesting people I could ever imagine.
Developing Barrel Speakers™ has been one of the most exciting things I've done in this business. My decades of experience and the relationships I've built with the world's top audio companies has paid off. I'm proud to say this collection delivers exceptional sound, and looks pretty amazing, too.

Aubrey Lee is the reason Barrel Speakers™ exists! It was her intuition knowing the acoustic potential of a wooden barrel, transformed into a speaker enclosure.
That got our business started. She has spent her last 12 years working in the consumer audio video business in both sales and customerrelations. She is now in charge of online marketing and making our customer service the very best we can achieve.
